Road Network: Elerinjare Community Seeks Government Intervention
The People of Elerinjare Community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State have appealed to the State Government to help intervene in the construction of the 3.7 kilometre Idofian-Elerinjare road to save their lives.
Speaking with Radio Nigeria – Harmony FM, spokesperson of the community, Mallam Abdulhakeem Garba on behalf of the Olu-Sabi of Elerinjare Ibobo land, Oba Tajudeen Olanrewaju Bello, said that people of the area have had harrowing experience due to bad state of the road.

He noted that the road had never been constructed by any government, indicating that the road was first awarded for construction during the first term of Governor Bukola Saraki in 2003 and the second term of the immediate past Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, without its construction seeing the light of the day.

AbdulHaleem Garba explained that it is always a challenge yearly for indigenes that travelled far and near to access the agrarian community due to flood.
The spokesperson hinted that, when constructed, the Idofian-Elerinjare road, would benefit other adjoining agrarian communities such as Oko-Okuta and Okoya, and would also reduce hour spent travelling on the road.

According to him, communal efforts had been sustaining the road from getting dilapidated, stressing that each household is levied every year, especially, during raining season to maintain the road.
He stressed that through collective efforts of members of the community the primary and secondary schools, electricity, as well as hand pump boreholes were provided for the residents.
The Elerinjare people therefore appeals to the state government to come to their aid by providing basic facilities with a view to improving living standard of the people.
