Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing traffic management systems and improving road safety in line with the aspirations of its citizens.

The Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Lafia Korasabi, stated this at the decoration ceremony of the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA), Mr. Suleiman Abdullahi Oba.

Mr. Korasabi emphasized the ministry’s firm commitment to upholding ethics and professionalism at all levels within KWARTMA.

He urged the new KWARTMA CEO to lead with vision, integrity, and a comprehensive understanding of the state’s transportation dynamics.

In his acceptance speech, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer,CEO, of KWARTMA, Mr. Suleiman Abdullahi Oba, pledged to align with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s vision of a “New Kwara” and to move the agency to greater heights.

Mr. Oba called for synergy among sister security agencies, transport and traffic stakeholders, and Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) towards achieving economic development, safety of lives, and orderliness on Kwara roads.

He noted the importance of prioritizing safety in all the agency’s operations to complement the good work of the current administration under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The KWARTMA CEO also sought the support of all staff of the authority, urging them to work together as a team on a mission of development and progress.

Present at the event were the Commissioner for Works, AbdulQuwiy Olododo, Commissioner for Water Resources, Mr Yunusa Lade, Chairman of various transportation unions, and other key stakeholders in the transportation sector.
