Oyo State, Nigeria – The outgoing Head of Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Lagos Central, Assistant Most Superior Evangelist John O. Babalola, has commended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the government has good intentions and plans for Nigerians.
Evangelist Babalola made the remarks during the 3rd Adult Harvest and Thanksgiving Service at Transformation Parish, John Babalola Castle, Boluwatife Alamo Ilora, Oyo State.
He noted that prior to President Tinubu’s assumption of office, Nigeria’s economy was under severe strain. He encouraged the President to implement policies that would ease the hardship faced by citizens.
The cleric also called on Nigerians to pray earnestly for national leaders, emphasizing that such prayers would help the government address insecurity and other pressing challenges across the country.
Highlighting religious violence, Babalola, who has served extensively in northern Nigeria, confirmed that Christians have been targeted in some regions. He warned that, as a secular nation, Nigeria must allow all citizens to practice their faith freely.
“We need to be factual. Terrorists are killing everyone in Nigeria, but when a particular religion is specifically targeted, such as attacks on churches, it becomes a major concern. It is very bad,” he said.
Evangelist Babalola urged citizens to support and pray for political leaders, including the President and state governors, for the overall progress and welfare of the country. He also encouraged Nigerians to use the celebration of Jesus Christ’s birthday as a time for spiritual renewal and moral reflection.
In an address, Mother Eunice Olabisi Babalola called on all CCC members to remain upright and active in their communities. She prayed for more fruitful and successful programs in the future, while commending members for their dedication and Godly contributions to the Adult Harvest initiative.
