Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has held its matriculation ceremony for newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session, formally ushering them into the academic community of the institution.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Rector, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed, congratulated the matriculating students on their successful admission, describing the occasion as a significant milestone in their educational journey.

He noted that admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria has become increasingly competitive, and urged the students to value the opportunity and make the best use of it.

The Rector charged the students to remain focused, disciplined and committed to academic excellence throughout their stay in the institution, emphasizing that hard work and good conduct are essential for success.

Engr. Mohammed expressed deep appreciation to the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, for her consistent support and guidance, which he said have contributed immensely to the growth and stability of the Polytechnic.

He also commended the Kwara State Government, under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for providing an enabling environment that has allowed the institution to record notable achievements.

He, however, announced that Kwara State Polytechnic has secured full accreditation for all its academic programmes, describing the achievement as a testament to the commitment of the management and staff to quality assurance and the maintenance of high academic standards.

The matriculation oath was administered to the fresh students by the Polytechnic’s Legal Officer, Mr. Umar Saad Imam, officially confirming their status as bona fide students of Kwara State Polytechnic.

The ceremony was attended by principal officers of the institution, management staff, academic and non-academic staff, as well as parents and guardians, marking a memorable beginning to the academic journey of the 2025/2026 matriculating students.
