Gov Abdulrazaq Swears In Six New High Court Judges.
Six new judges for the Kwara State High Court have been sworn in with a charge on them to uphold justice, fairness and rule of law.
The new judges are Ibijoke Olabisi Olawoyin; Fatimah Funsho Abdulrasaq; Oluwatosin Adenike Adeniyi; Yusuf Diko Adebayo; Olalekan Osuolale Ajayi; and Muritala Folohunsho.
Inaugurating the judges at the Government House Ilorin, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq urged them to discharge their duties with diligence, impartiality, and overriding interest of the community and national security.
Governor AbdulRazaq congratulated the judges on their appointment and expressed confidence that they will remain committed to the administration of justice for all.
He described the development as another milestone as it was the first time six judges were sworn in at the same time in the state.
The Governor gave the assurance that his administration would continue to support the judiciary effective and timely delivery of justice.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq also presented new SUVs to the new judges.
In a remark, the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Abiodun Adebara stressed that the swearing in of the new judges injects ‘new minds, new perspectives, and new energy to the State Judiciary’.
Justice Adebara commended the Governor’s commitment to the rule of law, and expressed confidence that the addition of the new judges would enhance speedy delivery of justice to the people.
Speaking on behalf of the new judges, Justice Ibijoke Olabisi Olawoyin pledged that they would uphold and give effect to the ideals of justice, fairness and equity while dispensing justice to all and sundry.
Justice Ibijoke thanked the Governor, the Kwara CJN, members of National Judicial Council and that of Kwara State Judicial Service Commission for their support all through their appointments process
With the swearing in, this makes a total of eleven (11) High Court Judges that the government of AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administered their oath of office within five years.
