Gov AbdulRazaq Advocates Love, Inclusivity For People Living With Disabilities

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has called for an increased love, care and inclusivity for people living with disabilities in the state.

Governor AbdulRazaq, who made the call in Ilorin at a mega rally to commemorate the International Day of People Living with Disabilities (PLWDs), said that the affected persons deserve every support to excel and be fulfilled in life.

The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mallam Sheu Usman Ndanusa who represented encouraged the public to continue to show love and care as they live together.

He gave the assurance that his administration will continue to give required support and treatment to the PLWDs like their abled counterparts for them to excel.

Similarly, the Commissioner for Environment, Mrs Nafisat Buge said that the PLWDs are special to the administration of Governor AbdulRazaq, thereby showing them care and carrying them along in its policies and programmes.

The Convener, Mr Yahya Habeeb Olatunji, Baba Kamo, said he organized the programme to change the wrong perception about PLWDs and to encourage the public to accept and treat them well.

A physically impaired participant, Mrs Abdulkadir Bilikis Abolore expressed joy with the sensitization campaign and appreciated the organizer for creating for them a sense of inclusion.

The rally tagged: “Walk Against Stigmatization of People Living With Disabilities”, which took off at the Kwara State Stadium Complex and ended in front of the Government House Ilorin was well attended by members of PLWDs, students and civil society organizations.
