Kwara State Judiciary has commenced it’s 2024/2025 legal year with a renewed commitment to justice delivery and judicial reforms.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi, at a special court session to mark the commencement of the legal year held at the Kwara state high court commended the judiciary for its dedication to upholding Justice.
Governor Abdulrazaq noted that the strong relationship between the executive and judicial arms had led to key achievements, including the seamless operation of the recently established small claims Court.
While congratulating the newly appointed judges he said his administration had, in the last five years, appointed eleven High Court judges and administered the Oath of Office to current Chief Judge and Grand Khadi.
He assured that judicial welfare remained a top priority, revealing that the government had begun constructing a modern courthouse named after Kwara’s first Chief Judge, Justice Saidu Kawu.
The Governor also congratulated Kwarans recently elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, as well as law professors and other distinguished honorees urging them to continue making the state proud.
Meanwhile, the High Court Judge, Justice Adebara expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor, His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for his unwavering support of the Judiciary.
Justice Adebara reaffirmed the Judiciary’s commitment to upholding justice and efficiency, noting that the ongoing construction of a modern courthouse comprising ten courtrooms and chambers will significantly ease space constraints upon completion.
Attorney General and commissioner for justice of Kwara State. Senior Suleima, urged the Chief Judge of Kwara state not to relent in his quest to reform the system and ensure quick dispensation of justice.
The New Jurdges introduced are Justice Ibikoye Olawoyin, Justice Fatimah Funsho Abdulrazaq, Justice Yusuf Adebayo DIkko, Justice Temitope Olalekan Osuolale- Ajayi, Hon Justice Muritala Oba Folorunsho.
