In a move aimed at deepening the relationship between the Nigerian Army and academic institutions, the Commander of the 22 Armoured Brigade, Nigerian Army, Sobi, Brigadier General E. B. Barkins, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to Kwara State Polytechnic.

The visit underscores ongoing efforts to enhance synergy between security agencies and educational institutions, with the goal of creating a safer, more stable academic environment.

Speaking during the visit, the Rector of Kwara State Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammed, expressed appreciation for the support the Nigerian Army has continued to render to the institution.

He commended the personnel deployed to the Polytechnic for their professionalism and dedication in maintaining peace and order on campus.

Dr. Muhammed emphasized the institution’s commitment to fostering a lasting partnership with the Army, stating that such collaboration is critical to improving the Polytechnic’s security architecture.

He noted that a safe learning environment is vital for the academic success and well-being of students.

In his remarks, Brigadier General E. B Barkins highlighted the significance of collaboration between educational institutions and security agencies.

He said the visit was part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen ties and promote a peaceful atmosphere conducive to learning.

“Working together, the Nigerian Army and Kwara State Polytechnic can ensure a secure and stable environment that encourages academic excellence,” he said.
