The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the gruesome murder of a 39-year-old woman, Mrs. Esther Enemo, whose dismembered body was discovered in Temidire community, Ilorin, on Thursday.

Police reports indicate that officers responded to a distress call around 9:00 a.m. after a resident raised concerns about suspicious activity at the home of Mr. Ekene Enemo.

Detectives, who arrived at the scene found the victim’s mutilated body dumped in a bush behind her residence.

A search led to the recovery of additional body parts concealed in a sack and hidden beneath a community bridge.

The remains were later evacuated and deposited at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, disclosed that a suspect, 29-year-old Mr. Sylvester Enemo, the younger brother of the victim’s husband, was arrested after eyewitnesses reported seeing him leaving the house shortly before the discovery.

The victim’s husband has also been invited for questioning.

Meanwhile, the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ojo Adekimi, has ordered a full-scale investigation into the killing.

He assured residents that the command would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that justice is served.

The command urged members of the public to remain calm and avoid unverified speculation that could trigger panic within the community.

It also encouraged the residents to provide credible information that could assist in the investigation.

The Kwara Police Command reassured citizens that security measures have been reinforced across Kwara State to safeguard lives and property.
