Kwara State Government has commended the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) for its outstanding contributions to human capital development across the state.
The commendation was made by the Special Adviser/Counsellor to the Governor, Alhaji Saadu Salaudeen, and the Special Adviser on Special Duties, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Jiddah, during a working visit to the Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari Skills Acquisition Centre being constructed by the Union at its secretariat in Geri Alimi, Ilorin.
The duo expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of work at the site, noting that the ₦160 million grant earlier provided by the state government to support the project had been judiciously utilized.
They pledged to briefl Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on the development, expressing optimism that the administration would extend further support to the Union in the near future.
Welcoming the visiting officials, the National President of IEDPU, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, disclosed that the project is now 99 per cent completed and ready for commissioning by the Governor.

Alhaji Abdulmalik, who led the officials on an inspection tour of the facility, expressed profound gratitude to the Governor for his consistent support and personal commitment to the growth of the Union.
He affirmed that no previous administration in the state had demonstrated such remarkable support for the IEDPU, describing Governor AbdulRazaq as a true patriot and friend of the Ilorin Emirate.
The Union President also assured the state government of the continuous prayers and cooperation of IEDPU towards the success of its development programmes, stressing that the partnership between the Union and the government is rooted in shared love for the people.
The IEDPU President was joined in receiving the Governor’s representatives by his Deputy, Alhaji AbdulRauf Babatunde Issa; National Auditor, Alhaji Hanafi Olumide Alabere; Assistant National Social Secretary, Mallam Suleiman Mahmud Alaro; and Chairman of the Project Implementation Committee, Engr. Shuaib Dare Alao, among others.
