A former Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, Kwara State chapter, Ayobola Ipinlaiye, has distributed food items to widows, persons living with disabilities, and other indigent groups in Ilorin.
Speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the event, Ipinlaiye, who is the Founder of the Help Women Foundation, said the exercise marked the second phase, tagged Round 2.0, of the foundation’s food distribution programme for the Ramadan and Lent fasting season.
She explained that the foundation had earlier supported 50 persons living with disabilities across the state, while the second phase focused on widows within the community.

According to her, the foundation is committed to showing compassion to vulnerable groups, particularly persons with disabilities and disadvantaged women.
“The foundation is about lending a helping hand to the needy. We provide foodstuffs and financial support to the very poor and vulnerable in society,” she said.
In her response, Iyabo Ayodele, Coordinator of Ayomoro Widows Group in Kwara, expressed appreciation to the foundation for the gesture, noting that many widows struggle to survive after losing their breadwinners.

She prayed for the continued success of the foundation and urged other well-meaning individuals and organisations to support indigent members of society.
Items distributed included rice, millet, guinea corn, semovita, and other foodstuffs.
