The Kwara State Police Command has arrested suspected armed robbers and cult members operating within the Amoyo axis of Ilorin.
In a statement issued on April 27, 2026, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said the arrests followed a report received on April 19 at the Amoyo Division concerning an armed robbery incident at Kabba Kajola Junction.
Acting on intelligence, police operatives launched a targeted operation which led to the arrest of two suspects, Abdulazeez Isiaq, also known as “Pumpin,” and Rilwan Mohammed, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend another suspect currently at large.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly assaulted their victims and forced them into an uncompleted building used as a hideout, where they threatened to kill them and dispossessed them of valuables, including an iPhone 13, a Samsung A2S, and other personal belongings.

The police recovered a locally made pistol and one of the stolen phones from the suspects, who reportedly confessed to the crime.
Further investigations at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) confirmed that the suspects are members of the Eiye Confraternity, a group linked to several cases of armed robbery and cult-related killings in Ilorin and its environs.
The statement added that the principal suspect, Abdulazeez Isiaq, is a known criminal figure, and his arrest has significantly disrupted criminal activities in the area.
The suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Kwara State.
