Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) has built a responsible government and delivered meaningful development across the state.

Governor AbdulRazaq stated this while speaking with newsmen during the APC primary elections held across the state.

According to him, the administration has recorded significant achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and human capital development.

Speaking on the conduct of the primaries, the APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary and North Central Coordinator for Elections, Durosinmi Meseko, described the exercise as peaceful and orderly.

Meseko attributed the smooth conduct of the primaries to the leadership of the party and the spirit of unity among members.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Primary Election Committee in Kwara State, Habibu Salam, expressed satisfaction with the exercise.

Salam said the process was free, fair, and transparent, noting that it would ensure the emergence of credible candidates.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the APC in Kwara State, Sunday Fagbemi, said the party remained united and committed to the progress of Kwara State and Nigeria.

Fagbemi added that the party continued to attract growing support from members and supporters because of its achievements in governance.

Meanwhile, it was a clean sweep in the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency as APC stakeholders and supporters overwhelmingly backed the candidature of Rafiu Ajakaye.

Across polling units in Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun local government areas, party members reportedly voted massively for Ajakaye, defeating the incumbent with wide margins.

In Ipee, Oyun Local Government Area, Ajakaye polled 1,551 votes, while Ismail recorded no vote.

In Ilorin East/Ilorin South Federal Constituency, former Commissioner for Works, Abdulquawiy Olododo, was reported to have secured massive support across the constituency.

Similarly, in Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, former TESCOM Chairman, Taoheed Abubakar, popularly known as Car Wash, was said to be in a comfortable lead.

In Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency, incumbent lawmaker Mukhtar Tolani Shagaya, also maintained a clear lead in several polling units, including Adewole, Ajikobi, Alanamu, Afon, and Ogidi.

The exercise was largely peaceful and devoid of violence as the ruling party prepares to continue its primaries next week.
