The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has commended the Registrar and Chief Executive of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, for what it described as his exemplary leadership and remarkable contributions to national development as his second tenure winds down.
The National President of the Union, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, gave the commendation in a statement issued on Thursday by the National Publicity Secretary of the Union, Mallam Suleiman Shuaib Dagbo.
Alhaji Abdulmalik described Prof. Oloyede as an outstanding administrator whose tenure at JAMB would remain memorable for its achievements and reforms.
According to him, the Union has closely followed the academic and professional journey of Prof. Oloyede from his days as a student at the University of Ilorin to his emergence as a lecturer and later Vice Chancellor of the institution.
He said the renowned scholar has consistently demonstrated excellence, integrity and commitment to national service, describing him as a goal-getter and a patriotic Nigerian worthy of emulation.
The IEDPU President also acknowledged the numerous contributions of Prof. Oloyede to nation-building, noting that his impacts extend beyond academics to religious harmony, preservation of cultural heritage and community development.
Alhaji Abdulmalik added that Prof. Oloyede, who also serves as Secretary-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, has remained a strong advocate of peace, unity and national progress.
He further described the scholar’s nearly five decades of residency in Ilorin as a blessing to the community and urged Nigerians, especially younger generations, to emulate his diligence, discipline and integrity for the country to attain greater heights.
The Union wished the outgoing JAMB Registrar continued success in his future endeavours.
