Muslims have been admonished to always prepare for death by striving to live a righteous life.
A renowned Islamic scholar, Uztaz Abdulsalam Olayiwola Imam gave this admonition at a special prayer for late Abdulrazaq Olayinka Bello of Harmony FM, Idofian, organized by Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kwara State Council.
Ustaz Olayiwola Imam who led other Islamic clerics during the prayer said the essence of remembering death regularly by Muslims, is to stay focused on the ultimate goal of pleasing Almighty Allah and attaining Paradise.
Uztaz Olayiwola Imam noted that death should be seen as a moment of accountability, where every individual will be judged based on their faith and actions.
He stressed that late AbdulRazaq Bello lived a fulfilled life because he practiced the religion of Islam wholeheartedly during his lifetime
In his remarks, Kwara State Chairman, NUJ, Mallam Abdullateef Ahmed, said every human being is vulnerable to death and in Islam, there is nothing like sudden death because every faithful is expected to prepare for death daily.
Mallam Abdullateef described the demise of AbdulRazaq Bello as a colossal loss for the members of NUJ and his contributions to modern journalism would be greatly missed.
Present at the event were Chief Press Secretary to Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRaman; Chief Press Secretary to Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly; State Coordinator, National Orientation Agency; Clerk of the House, Kwara State House of Assembly, Alhaji AbdulKareem Olayiwola; journalists across the State and staff of Radio Nigeria Harmony FM.
