
As part of its efforts to raise young and promising entrepreneurs in Nigeria, Unity Bank Plc had awarded grants to some members of the National Youth Service Corps, Corps (NYSC) at the permanent orientation camp in Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.
At the beginning of the orientation course, Corps members were encouraged to submit business proposals for vetting and after a competitive screening session, the top three proposals were selected, and their authors were awarded grants.
Winners of the cash splash include: Euphemia Nwakaeze, N800,000; Fedelia Omosimua, N500,000 and Sodiq Wasiu
N300,000.
Unity Bank representative, Mr. Bodunrinde David, explained that the they had been partnering the NYSC scheme over the years to support young entrepreneurs.
Mr. David added that as one of the funding partners of the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development program, the bank has been supporting Corps members to either raise startup capital or expand their existing businesses.
Responding, the State Coordinator of NYSC in Kwara State, Mr. Olaoluwa Onifade, congratulated the winners and urged them to use the funds judiciously as outlined in their business proposals.

The Coordinator also appreciated the management of Unity Bank for their kind gesture and called on other corporate bodies to join hands with the NYSC scheme to invest in the future of Nigerian youth.
