Al-Hikmah University Signs MOU With Kwara Gov To Use Sobi Specialist Hospital For Medical Training
Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Kwara State has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, with Kwara State Government for the use of Sobi Specialist Hospital Ilorin for training of medical students of the College of Health and Allied Health Sciences of the institution.
The State Government also expressed its readiness to absolve Medicine students of the school into the State Workforce when graduated, to improve healthcare delivery in the state.
The Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor, Al-Hikmah University, Dr. Sikiru Nurudeen, who made this known at a Press briefing today, at the school council chamber, said the institution awaits National Universities Commission, NUC approval for commencement of the Medicine Science programme.
He stated that the Medical Science school fees will be 3.5Million per annum.
“We are delighted that the State Government has agreed to partner with us. We are fully aware of the remarkable progress the government is making in the health sector, and we believe this MoU will further improve health outcomes across the State as the Al-Hikmah University is committed to delivering on its promises.”
Dr Nurudeen expressed the university’s enthusiasm for the collaboration and maintained that the partnership shows the confidence the state government has in the university ability and competency.
He convened the appreciation of the Founder Al-Hikmah University and Jagunmolu of Igbomina land, Alhaji Abdulraheem Oladimeji to the Kwara State Government and relevant government agencies for their commitment in seeing to the speedy approval and signing of the MoU.
Kwara State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, signed on behalf of the State Government while the Registrar of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Dr. Kazeem Oladimeji signed for the university.
