Gov, AbdulRazq Reiterates Commitment To Investing In Education, Youth Empowerment

Governor AbduRahman AbdulRazq of Kwara State says his administration will continue to invest in education and youth empowerment to make them responsible citizens and contribute to the wellbeing of the society.

Governor AbdulRazq stated this in Ilorin at the Grand finale of 2024 Tax Club Quiz Competition organised by Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) in collaboration with the State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development.

According to the Governor, the competition is not a contest but an idea aimed at improving the students knowledge of taxation.

He noted that it was essential the youth are educated on the rudiments of tax payment to make them compliance to the process in future.

Governor AbdulRazq commended organizers of the quiz competition which in the long run would improve the state revenue as well as the economy of the country.

In an address, the Commisssioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajiya Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu said that the programme help to make the students understand the intricacies of taxation.

She urged the students to use the knowledge gathered during the competition to build a brighter future for themselves.

Earlier, the Executive Chairman, Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS), Mrs Shade Omoniyi urged the students to continue to pursue knowledge regardless of the outcome of the quiz competition.

Government Day Secondary School Ga’ Akanbi emerged overall winner of the 2024 Tax Quiz Competition, Government Secondary School Lafiagi came second while Evangelistic Hearth of Jesus Model College, Asa Dam, Ilọrin came third.
