The Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Alhdji Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf, has completed the refurbishment of three additional tractors to support local farmers during the ongoing farming season.
According to a statement by Abdulquadri Jimba, Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, the tractors, which had previously become weak and unserviceable within the premises of the local government Secretariat, have now been restored to working condition to ease agricultural activities across the Local Government.
In furtherance to his quest for rural development, the Chairman also facilitated the construction of three solar-powered boreholes in Atanda (Omupo Ward), Gaa Elemere (Oke-Ode III), and Gaa Ori-Oke (Share Ward II), with the aim of improving access to clean water in underserved communities.

The Chairman, during an inspection visit, reaffirmed his commitment to agricultural development and grassroots empowerment, describing the intervention as part of his administration’s broader plan to make Ifelodun a food basket in the state.
“This is part of our commitment to support farmers at the grassroots who are preparing for the new farming season. One of our campaign targets is to provide at least one functional tractor per district—nine in total—to make farming easier and more productive, which will in turn strengthen the local economy,” he said.
He added that the borehole projects were targeted at rural areas to improve water access and support the inclusive development agenda of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
“We included a borehole for the non-indigene community at Ori-Oke in Share, covering about eight communities, to ensure they feel secure, welcome, and well-integrated”.

Members of the beneficiary communities jubilating
During the project assessment, the Head of Works Department in Ifelodun Local Government, Engr. Badmus Ayinde, confirmed that all the projects are 100% ready for use. He encouraged the benefiting communities to take ownership and ensure proper maintenance for long-term use.
