Top government officials and dignitaries have paid their last respects to the late former Governor of Kwara State, Chief Cornelius Olatunji Adebayo, during a lying-in-state held at his Ilorin residence.

Among those present were the Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi; Commissioner for Livestock Development, Mrs. Oloruntoyosi Thomas; and the Mutawali of Ilorin, Dr. Alimi Abdulrazaq.

Others included the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Jiddah; Senior Adviser and Counsellor to the Governor, Alhaji Saadu Salau; and the Senior Special Assistant on Christian Religion, Reverend Timothy Akangbe.

The solemn ceremony provided an opportunity for family members, friends, and associates to honour the enduring legacy of the late Chief Adebayo, who was widely celebrated for his contributions to governance and human development in Kwara State.

In his tribute, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, represented by his Senior Special Assistant, Alhaji Saadu Salau, described Chief Cornelius Adebayo as a dedicated leader whose commitment to developmental projects left lasting impacts on the state.

Governor AbdulRazaq urged family of the deceased to sustain his legacy of service, integrity, and excellence.
