Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has strongly condemned the killing of innocent civilians in Woro community, Kaiama Local Government Area of the state.
Governor AbdulRazaq, who paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Kaiama, Alhaji Shehu Omar Muazu, described the attack as a cowardly act perpetrated by terrorist elements frustrated by sustained counterterrorism operations across parts of Kwara State.
He said the incident appeared to be a diversionary tactic aimed at distracting security agencies that have recorded notable successes in dismantling terrorist and kidnapping networks in several locations.

The Governor assured residents that security agencies remain resolute and will not relent in their efforts to protect lives and property, stressing that those behind the attack would be brought to justice.
Governor AbdulRazaq also visited Woro community to assess the situation firsthand and condoled with the people, particularly families who lost loved ones in the tragic incident.
Earlier, the Emir of Kaiama, Alhaji Shehu Omar Muazu, briefed the Governor on the situation, describing the attack as devastating and disclosing that over one hundred people were killed.

He commended the Governor for the visit and on-the-spot assessment, and appealed to government to put in place lasting solutions to end the spate of killings.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Kaiama Local Government Area, Mallam Abubakar Abdullahi Danladi, described the incident as a dark day for the entire community.
He called for urgent action to restore peace and security, noting that the attack plunged Kaiama into grief and fear while underscoring the grave insecurity threatening the nation.
Mallam Danladi noted that the attack was barbaric, saying it was not only an assault on innocent lives but also on the dignity, livelihoods, and the foundation of peace in the area.

Correspondent Abdullah Ahmed reports that special prayers were offered for the repose of the souls of the deceased, while prayers were also said for the speedy recovery of the injured and for divine peace, healing, and guidance for Woro community and the entire Kaiama Local Government Area.
The Governor was accompanied on the visit to Woro by the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Engr. Salihu Yakub Danladi; Chairman of Kaiama Local Government Area, Mallam Abubakar Abdullahi Danladi; and Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Mallam Abubakar Abdullahi Bata.
Others are a member representing Kaiama/Adena/Gbanabe State Constituency, Alhaji Ahmed Saidu Baba; Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Umar Shero Danladi; a Board Member of the Judiciary Commission, Alhaji Umar Aliyu Monde, among other government officials.
