….hails Unilorin for her encouraging disposition

Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), the umbrella sociocultural organisation of the good people of Ilorin Emirate, has congratulated three eminent indigenes of the community for bagging various awards from the University of Ilorin.

The three, who are to be conferred with one prestigious award or the other on Monday, August 17, 2026, are the Vice Chancellor of the Kwara State University of Education, Ilorin, Prof. Medinat Folorunso Salman; the Dan Amana Gari of Ilorin Emirate, Dr Abdulkadir Tunji Nagode; and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sobi 101. 9FM, Ilorin, Dr Lukman Olayiwola Mustapha.

A statement issued by the Union’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Suleiman Shuaib Dagbo, on behalf of its National President, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, described the three as illustrious icons who truly deserve the honour in view of their superlative contributions that have continued to earn the University goodwill.

The Union specifically thanked the authorities of the University for finding the trio worthy of being celebrated as it also commended the University for always honouring her outstanding alumni and friends in order to encourage more patriotism.

While describing the University of Ilorin as not only the biggest, most enduring and impactive federal government investment in Ilorin but also the institution that has undeniable positive impacts on its host community, Alhaji Abdulmalik encouraged other indigenes of Ilorin Emirate as well as alumni of the University to emulate the inspirational dispositions of the trio, which earned them the honour.

The President wished the trio more eventful and rewarding careers and the University a very successful and rewarding event.
