The New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, has officially ratified Prince Adetoyese Omokanye as its governorship candidate for Kwara State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The ratification was announced on Saturday during the party’s substitution primary and unveiling of candidates held at the NUJ State Secretariat, Offa Road, Ilorin.

According to party officials, the decision followed the absence of litigation and a unanimous agreement by stakeholders, confirming Omokanye as the NNPP standard-bearer.

Also unveiled at the event were candidates for deputy governor, Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly.

Speaking after his ratification, Omokanye outlined an 8-point agenda focused on economic transformation, job creation, agricultural development, education, healthcare, infrastructure, technology, and good governance.

He said his administration, if elected, will prioritise transparency, inclusive development, and opportunities for youth, women, farmers, and business owners across the state.

Omokanye described his vision as “A New Kwara” ; a state where government works for the people and development reaches every community.

Meanwhile, the NNPP said it will begin full campaign activities immediately.
