Diversification into the digital economy and skills has been identified as a formidable solution to Nigeria’s economic challenges.
Musa Aibinu, a Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Vice Chancellor of Summit University, Offa, Kwara State, made this statement while speaking as a guest lecturer at the 25th Honours Day Programme organized by the Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates Association (UNIFEMGA).
Prof. Aibinu’s lecture, titled “Nigeria’s Economic Reforms: Mitigating The Challenges Through Sustainable Economic Measures,” emphasized the need for individuals to adopt self-generation of power to overcome “energy poverty.”
He noted that Nigeria, like other countries, has its own indigenous technology, but the inability to develop this technical expertise has hindered the country’s rapid development.
“Solutions to Nigeria’s challenges require individual contributions; we should reform how we generate energy locally, using available resources. Every Nigerian should leverage energy technology to empower the populace,” Prof. Aibinu added.
