
The Senate of the University of Ilorin has approved the appointment of three of the University’s retired dons as Emeritus Professors. A statemeht by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, disclosed that the University’s highest decion-making body, at its 304th meeting on Thursday, gave its nod for Prof. Is’haq Oloyede, Prof. Olu Obafemi, and Prof. Musbau Akanji to be addressed henceforth as ‘Emeritus Professors’.
Emeritus Professor Oloyede, who retired from the services of the University in October last year, is a former Vice Chancellor of the University and the current Registrar and Chief Executive of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation (JAMB).

Emeritus Professor Obafemi, a scholar of English and Dramatic Literature, also retired from the services of the University in 2020.

Odunola-Bakare will serve as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) subject to the approval of the University Governing Council. Prof. Etudaiye, on his part, is a Professor of Law and the current Chairman of the University Admissions Committee. He will serve as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research, Technology, and Innovation) subject to the approval of the University Governing Council.The current Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research, Technology, and Innovation), Prof. Adegboyega Fawole, will now serve as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Management Services).
According to the release, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole commended the outgoing deputy vice Chancellors on their dedication and loyalty to the system.
