The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria, has urged media organizations to adhere to professional ethics and regulatory guidelines.

National Coordinator of the group, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim gave the charge when he led a team of officials on a courtesy visit to the office of the newly appointed General Manager of Radio Nigeria Harmony FM, Idofian, Hajia Binta Abubakar-Mora.

Alhaji Ibrahim who emphasized the importance of quality programming and monitoring in a broadcast station, said that every item should be properly vetted before transmission to avoid misinformation.

He outlined some of the objectives of the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria to include ensuring fair play, equity, justice, and balanced programming and news coverage in the interest of public good.

While congratulating Hajia Binta Abubakar-Mora on her appointment, Alhaji Ibrahim advised her to avoid distractions, eschew integrity and focus on turning around the radio station into a role model in the media industry.

Responding, Hajia Abubakar-Mora thanked the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria for their support to Radio Nigeria HarmonyFM over the years and their efforts in promoting the ideals of Islam in the media space.

The newly appointed General Manager promised to build on the existing relationship between the organization and HarmonyFM inline with the mission of Radio Nigeria.
