The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Hadji Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf, has commenced grading and stretching of key rural roads including the Oke-Ode to Agbee route, Jimba-Oja to Falokun-Oja road, and the Igbaja–Adanla–Offarese ring road.

In addition, the local government has completed the conversion of motorized boreholes to solar-powered systems in three communities — Adanla, Alakuko, and Amodu-Asungbolu — along with the installation of three hand pump boreholes in Famole, Gaa Kishi, and Apata Aiki.

The Chairman explained that the road projects are aimed at easing movement within the Oke-Ode axis, Falokun-Oja, particularly ahead of the upcoming Sallah festivities.

The Oke-Ode–Agbee route also connects several communities collectively known as “Ilu Mesan,” including Alabe-Akorede, Bada, Amundun, Atipo, Agbee, and Balogun-Oyi, forming part of the first phase of the intervention.

“It’s our responsibility to ease life for our people and connect our local roads in ways that support economic growth and reduce the space for unlawful activities,”

“The conversion to solar-powered boreholes is in response to areas experiencing low electricity supply, which rendered many boreholes inactive. We have started with three strategic communities and will continue as necessary,” he added.

Head of the Works Department, Engr. Badmus Ayinde urged residents to take ownership of the infrastructure and assured other communities in need that the council would attend to them in due course.

A community leader from Oke-Ode ward II, Jamiu Babatunde Akano, thanked the Chairman for his consistent performance, describing the projects as a direct support to the development vision of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the APC-led administration.
