Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in the creative industry to develop young talents and strengthen the state’s economy.

Governor AbdulRazaq gave the assurance in Ilorin at the second edition of the Kwara Kre8ive Workshop, where he said the government would continue to partner with the private sector to equip creatives with the skills and support needed to compete globally.

He urged participants with innovative ideas to engage the management of the Ilorin Innovation Hub for possible government backing.

Governor AbdulRazaq said the establishment of the Ilorin Innovation Hub, in partnership with IHS Towers, has led to the installation of over 500 kilometres of fibre optic infrastructure across the state, providing improved internet connectivity to support innovation, digital entrepreneurship and the creative economy.

Also speaking, the Special Assistant to the President on Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Ayo Adeagbo, described the creative sector as a major driver of economic prosperity.

He commended the Kwara State Government for creating policies and projects that nurture talents and encourage investment in the industry.

Earlier, the Convener of Kwara Kre8ives, Oyelere Adebisi, said the initiative is designed to promote talent development, collaboration and youth empowerment in areas such as photography, videography, cinematography and content creation.

He urged participants to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the programme.
