Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has approved the composition of his National Campaign Council and Presidential Campaign Management Committee ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was made on Thursday in a statement released by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communications for the campaign.
Kashim Ibrahim-Imam has been named Chairman of the campaign council, while former Kaduna State Governor and former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasir El-Rufai, will serve as Deputy Chairman overseeing high-level political coordination.
Senator Austin Akobundu was appointed Director-General and Campaign Manager, tasked with day-to-day operations and organizational discipline across the structure.
The campaign operations will run through six core directorates managed by Deputy Directors-General and 30 Directors.
Publisher Dele Momodu has been appointed to head the Media and Communications Directorate, while former Senator Dino Melaye joins the public outreach and mobilization division.
Economist Mohammed Hayatudeen will lead the policy team alongside former Central Bank of Nigeria Deputy Governor Kingsley Moghalu.
Additionally, pioneer National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, was named Chairman of the Campaign Advisory Council.
According to the campaign team, the reduced numerical size of the leadership structure was designed deliberately to reflect the prevailing economic conditions of the country and cut administrative overhead.
