Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has donated 25 additional Toyota Hilux vehicles to the state police command to strengthen security operations and sustain efforts to combat crime.
Presenting the vehicles in Ilorin, Governor AbdulRazaq commended the police and other security agencies for their efforts in maintaining peace and safety across the state, saying the government would provide about 100 vehicles to security agencies in phases.

The Governor said other security agencies would also benefit from the initiative, expressing confidence that Kwara would sustain its position among Nigeria’s peaceful states, based on independent assessments.
He urged residents to support security agencies with timely and useful information, stressing that effective intelligence gathering was essential to preventing crime and stopping security threats from escalating.

The Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Mr Adekimi Ojo, described the donation as another intervention by the state government to improve police operations, noting that previous support, including special-duty allowances, had helped ease the force’s responsibilities.
Mr Ojo said the vehicles would address operational challenges, particularly in hard-to-reach areas, and assured the Governor and residents that the police would put them to judicious use.

The Police Commissioner acknowledged improvements in the state’s security situation but pledged that the command would redouble its efforts to achieve greater success in the fight against crime.
