The United States Government Exchange Alumni Association of Nigeria (USGEAAN) has called on stakeholders, government, the private sector and civil society organisations to collaborate in building a pipeline of Nigerian innovators, problem-solvers and leaders who will partner with the global community for a more prosperous and secure world.
The Deputy Coordinator of the association’s Kwara Chapter, Dr Sikiru Issa Nuhu, made the call during a press conference in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
Dr Nuhu said USGEAAN, with more than 14,000 members across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has implemented over 500 community impact projects nationwide.
He said the Kwara Chapter recently carried out a STEM and Career Guidance Outreach Programme in secondary schools across Omu-Aran and Ilorin under the theme, From Classroom to Career: Building Nigeria’s Next STEM Leaders.

According to him, the chapter remains committed to grassroots development through skills acquisition and youth entrepreneurship training, equipping young people with practical vocational and entrepreneurial skills in line with national initiatives such as the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs.
He added that the association has also undertaken environmental sanitation and community clean-up projects across the state.
Dr Nuhu further reaffirmed the chapter’s partnership with the Centre for International Education and Student Affairs, University of Ilorin, to jointly develop community-based projects aimed at advancing student and youth development.
He explained that USGEAAN has organised several STEM and career summits to expose students to opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, while promoting digital literacy, the ethical use of artificial intelligence in academics and participation in the innovation economy.
Dr Nuhu said the project aligns with the three core themes of Freedom 250, which seek to promote digital freedom, ethical technology use and the spirit of inquiry that drives American innovation, encourage educational dialogue that empowers young Nigerians with knowledge, critical thinking and civic awareness, and inspire future generations by presenting STEM as a tool for innovation and national development.
He reaffirmed the Kwara Chapter’s commitment to community development and the enduring partnership between Nigeria and the United States.
