Ahead of the 2027 general elections, a political pressure group, the Coalition of Kwara APC Young Stakeholders (CKAYS), has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election, expressing strong confidence in his administration’s performance.
The coalition, while passing a vote of confidence in the President, said it is optimistic that the next presidential election would be a walkover for Tinubu, citing what it described as numerous impactful projects and policies implemented under his administration.
Speaking at a media briefing tagged “Renewed Hope Press Conference” in Ilorin on Friday, the State Coordinator of CKAYS, Abiola Agboola Nasirdeen, who led other leaders including Alhaji AbdulRasheed Salahudeen, also reaffirmed the group’s support for Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Abiola noted that the people of Kwara State are ready to stand firmly with President Tinubu because of his commitment to good governance, infrastructural development, economic recovery, national stability and inclusive leadership.
“As we approach 2027, Kwara State stands firmly behind the President, and the APC remains united, focused and committed to governance,” he said.
“We respectfully call on all party stakeholders and members to align with the position of our esteemed leader, the visionary achiever, His Excellency AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.”
“This unity is essential to safeguarding the legacy and institutional framework that continue to deliver tangible democratic dividends to the good people of Kwara State.”
The briefing was attended by notable political figures, including the Chairman of the Kwara South Elders Forum, Chief James Ayeni, former Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Abdulmumin Sidiq Katibi, and other prominent APC leaders.

Abiola added that CKAYS remains committed to unity, good governance, youth inclusion and democratic consolidation, stressing that the group continually evaluates progress under the Renewed Hope administration at both federal and state levels.
On the agitation for the governorship seat to shift to Kwara North in 2027, Abiola described the call as legitimate and timely.
He explained that since Kwara Central and Kwara South have produced governors for 20 and eight years respectively, equity, fairness and justice demand that Kwara North be given the opportunity to produce the next governor.
Also speaking, a leader of the coalition, Alhaji AbdulRasheed Salahudeen, expressed confidence that the 2027 presidential election would be an easy victory for President Tinubu, insisting that his achievements in office speak for themselves.
Dismissing claims by opposition parties that the 2027 poll would be a contest between Tinubu and Nigerians, Salahudeen said elections are contested on political platforms.
“I disagree that the 2027 election is between Nigerians and Mr President. We are all Nigerians, and we can see and feel the dividends of democracy being delivered. Elections are contested on political platforms, not sentiments,” he said.
“Asiwaju has performed tremendously. When you come to Kwara State, you can see visible projects. By the grace of Allah, 2027 will be a walkover for him.”
CKAYS, a brainchild of young leaders of the ‘O to ge’ movement, was formed in November 2019 and serves as an umbrella body for over 200 youth-led political associations within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State.
