700 Students Receive Free Educational Materials In Kwara

No fewer than 700 students across 14 public schools in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State have benefited from free educational materials.

Speaking at the handing over of the material at Government Secondary School, Tanke in Ilorin, wife of the State Governor, Mrs Olufolake AbdulRazaq expressed her readiness to make education accessible to every child.

Mrs AbdulRazaq, who was represented by the State Commissioner for Solid Minerals Development, Dr Afeez Alabi, said the schools materials distributed included school bags, exercise books, mathematical sets and pair of new school uniforms.

She called for improvement in support for girl child education, students with disabilities and adaptive learning tools.

The First Lady commended the initiative of a non- governmental organisations for collaborating with the State government on adolescent girls child education service delivery.

Earlier in a remark, the Principal Government Day Senior Secondary School Tanke, Ilorin, Mrs Kubura Olumo, thanked wife of the State Governor for the gesture.

Mrs Olumo said the initiative aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, which has added values to the commitment towards advancing quality education as well as gender equality.
