Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has launched a digital land administration system designed to eliminate delays and manual bottlenecks in land processing across the state.

Speaking at the event in Ilorin, Governor AbdulRazaq described the initiative as another bold step towards innovation, transparency, and efficiency in governance.

The new platform allows applicants to obtain Certificates of Occupancy and other land titles within two weeks to thirty working days once all conditions are met.

Governor AbdulRazaq said the digital system will end record duplication, improve revenue generation, and boost investor confidence by ensuring security and accuracy of land ownership.

The State Commissioner for Finance and Chairperson of the State Ease of Doing Business Council, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, said the innovation places Kwara among leading states in World Bank–supported programmes such as NG-CARES, SABER, and the HOPE projects.

Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service, Mrs. Folashade Omoniyi, explained that the integration of KW-GIS with the state’s online payment system will enable residents to process all land-related documents and payments seamlessly online.

Executive Secretary of Kwara State Geographic Information Service, KW-GIS, Alhaji Sulyman Abdulkareem, and Project Consultant, Dr. Paul Adepelumi, both described the development as a revolutionary shift from manual records to digital efficiency, while commending the Governor for his foresight and support.

The event attracted top government officials, lawmakers, traditional rulers, industry players, and other stakeholders.
