Nigerian women have been urged to play active role in politics to support their men counterparts in enhancing socio-economy, political and national development.

The Convener of Women Capacity in Politics and APC stalwart from Idofian Ward I, Mrs Bamigbade Oluwasheun Beatrice made the call during a stakeholders’ meeting with progressive women from Idofian and Omupo districts, held at Idofian Town Hall.

Speaking at the event which was part of her ward-to-ward district outreach, that began earlier at Share District, Bamigbade BeatricBeatric, the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the APC-led administration for their continuous support for women and grassroots development in Kwara State.

In commemoration of the sixth anniversary of Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration, she acknowledged various achievements in infrastructure, health, education, and security.

“Governor AbdulRazaq has proven himself as a leader who does not just promise but delivers—especially for women, youths, and the vulnerable. His style of leadership is people-oriented and inclusive, and that is why today in Kwara, we are seeing real change,” she said.

“In terms of women empowerment, his administration has engaged our mothers through programmes like Owo Isowo and Owo Arugbo. This is why I’m committed to complementing his efforts with the little I have, especially by supporting our widows, aged women, and the vulnerable.”

She explained that her mobilization effort is to unify women with one voice toward a better Kwara.

“Governor AbdulRazaq has laid the foundation for women inclusion—Kwara is the first state in Nigeria to have a female-majority cabinet. Women are commissioners, advisers, chairpersons, and special assistants. He didn’t just carry us along; he made us part of the decision-making process,”

“We need someone who understands this foundation and will build on it. For fairness and equity, Kwara North remains the most deserving, and our preferred choice is Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi. He is a youth and women advocate, and he shares the values and governance path of Governor AbdulRazaq.”

The APC Women Leader of Idofian Ward I, speaking on behalf of all women leaders, congratulated the Governor on his sixth year in office and praised Hon. Bamigbade for her tireless support to widows, the aged, and the vulnerable in Ifelodun Local Government.
