The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has elected Hon. Issa Adamu Bawa as its new chairman, following a peaceful congress at Arca Santa Hall in Ilorin.
The congress was supervised by the PDP’s national electoral committee, led by Barrister Jacob Mark, with INEC officials in attendance.
In his acceptance speech, Bawa vowed to rebuild and unite the party ahead of the 2027 elections, promising to “reclaim our mandate and rescue Kwara State” through unity, integrity, and hard work.
The outgoing chairman, Rt. Hon. Babatunde Mohammed, noted that the PDP had regained strength since 2021 and was poised to retake power.
Other party leaders, including Professor Muritala and Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, echoed similar sentiments, citing the current administration’s failures on insecurity and poverty.
The party’s theme, “Securing Kwara,” reflects the people’s desire for change, with Nigerians tired of “lies, insecurity, and bad governance,” according to Baraje.
Meanwhile, the complete list of the Kwara State PDP Executive Committee Members are:
