A former House of Representatives candidate under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, has reiterated the importance of youths respecting and honoring their parents.
He made the call while speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the fidau prayer held for the repose of the soul of his late mother, Hajia Mariam Ajia
The solemn event took place at the Ajia Ogbonde Family Quarters in Ilorin, Kwara State.
He noted that parental blessings play a vital role in the overall success of young people and stressed that no achievement is complete without the guidance, prayers, and support of one’s parents.
According to him, respect for parents is a cornerstone of cultural and religious values and It is important that young people do not lose sight of this, no matter their level of exposure or education.
Islamic preacher, Sheikh Sulaiman Danboronu, in his sermon, reminded the congregation of the certainty of death and cautioned against actions that could attract Allah’s wrath.
He described late Hajia Mariam as a pious, generous, and dutiful mother who lived an exemplary life.
The fidau prayer attracted family members, friends, political associates, community leaders, and well-wishers who came to pay their respects and offer prayers for the late Hajia Mariam Ajia.
