Bollywilly College Ilorin has emerged winner of the AOB Quiz and Debate Competition for secondary schools in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Musab Islamic College secured the second position, while United Secondary School clinched third place out of the nine schools that participated in the competition.
The top three schools will share a total cash prize of N500,000, while the remaining six participating schools received N5,000 each as consolation awards.
Speaking at the event, the Convener of the AOB Foundation, Mallam Aliyu Olamilekan Bello, described the competition, tagged “A Win for Us,” as more than an academic contest.
According to him, the initiative represents a grassroots movement aimed at shaping a brighter future for Kwara State and Nigeria at large.
Mallam Bello emphasized that investing in young people is a collective responsibility that must not be neglected.
He recalled an encounter with a young boy in the Taiwo Isale area of Ilorin whose strong determination to become a leader further strengthened his resolve to support children, irrespective of their backgrounds.
Mallam Bello noted that the success of one child translates into progress for the entire community.
The convener also acknowledged national and state leaders whose vision aligns with youth development efforts, including the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Other participating schools included:
Government Day Secondary School Gaa Akanbi, United Community Secondary School Sango, Sango Senior Secondary School, Sheikh Abdul Salaam Secondary School, Ansarul Islam Secondary School Ilorin, and Government Day Secondary School Tanke.
The competition attracted wide interest from students, teachers, and community stakeholders, further underscoring the growing commitment to academic excellence and youth empowerment in the state.
