Building Demolition: IEDPU Begs For Calm
Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), the umbrella sociocultural organisation of the good people of Ilorin Emirate, has appealed to all Kwarans, particularly those who are of Ilorin Emirate extractions, to exercise restraints as regards the ongoing happenings in the State capital.
In a statement personally issued by its National President, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik, the Union enjoined stakeholders and the residents to refrain from inflammatory comments, which would not provide solution, but rather aggravate and fuel issues.
The President explained further in the statement that the Union is collaborating with well-meaning elders in the Emirate to unite the estranged brothers in order to restore unity and peace among the people of the community.
Alhaji Abdulmalik, who said that it is not the culture of the Union to play to the gallery on her fence-mending activities as well as peace initiatives, recalled that the Union was fully involved in dousing tension between the concerned parties earlier during a previous altercation regarding a contractual issue.
He, therefore, urged the two parties and others concerned in one way or the other to exercise restraints to pave way for quick healing of wounds and resolution of issues
