A prominent Christian leader, Pastor Olupayimo Theophilus Bola-David, has cautioned against the growing trend of turning churches into business ventures, declaring that no pastor with a true divine calling would engage in ministry for monetary gain.

Speaking to journalists in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, during the closing ceremony of the weeklong silver jubilee celebration of his church, Royal Covenant Assembly, Pastor Olupayimo warned that those who commercialize the ministry would ultimately regret their actions.

According to him, Ministry is not to be a source of income; it is not a commercial venture,” the senior pastor emphasized.

“Anyone who turns the church into a money-making enterprise will mourn later in life.”

He urged fellow clerics to remain committed to their spiritual callings, stressing that true dedication brings divine rewards both in this life and beyond.

Reflecting on the 25-year journey of his ministry, Pastor Olupayimo affirmed the faithfulness of God throughout the years.

He revealed that the church began humbly in a donated chalet in the Amilengbe area of Ilorin, from where it relocated multiple times before settling into its current structure.

Speaking on the theme of the anniversary, “I Am That I Am,” he testified to the fulfillment of God’s promises in his life and ministry.

The good Lord said to me specifically, ‘I will be with you,’ and He has been with us. Virtually all of God’s promises to me have come to pass.”

He concluded by encouraging patience, perseverance, and endurance as essential virtues in ministry and life.
