
Parents have been urged to take proper care of their children and closely monitor their movements to help curb the rising trend of cultism and social vices among youths.
A retired Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, gave the advice during a dinner event organized by the Ilorin Likemind Foundation.
Speaking on the theme “The Menace of Cultism and Social Vices in Relation to the Moral Upbringing of Today’s Youths.
Mr. Okasanmi identified poor parental care and peer pressure as major contributors to the increasing involvement of young people in cult-related activities.
He emphasized the need for parents, especially heads of families, to regularly counsel their children and avoid becoming distant figures in their own homes.
“Parents should not become masquerades in the house”
“Engage your children, guide them, and create room for open communication”.

Earlier in a remark, President of the Ilorin Likemind Foundation, Mallam Mohammed Alokoso, encouraged children of the foundation members to remain united and foster positive relationships with one another.
Mallam Alokoso also expressed his gratitude to all members of the foundation and their families for attending and supporting the dinner event.
