President Bola Tinubu says his administration is committed to uninterrupted academic calendar in tertiary institutions across the country.

The president, represented by the Minister of State for Education, Dr Yusuf Sununu, stated this in his speech as visitor to the 39th Convocation Ceremony of the University of Ilorin.

He noted that government is aware of the depleting staff strength in Nigerian universities, hence the waiver granted for recruitment of more staff members to replace those who have left their services as a result of death, retirement or resignation.

“As you step into the real world, the onus is on you to contribute your quota to the greatness of this country. Remember that your existence will only be meaningful if you make positive impacts.

“The Nigerian Education Loans Fund (NELFUND) has come to stay to provide opportunities and access for students to learn with ease and pay back later,” he added, urging students to take full advantage of the scheme.
