FG Reiterates Commitment To Reforming Justice Sector
Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to reforming the justice sector for better service delivery.
The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, stated this at the opening ceremony of the conference of the Network of Justice Sector Reform Teams held in Ilorin, Kwara State Capital.
According to Justice Lateef Fagbemi, one of the cardinal items on the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, is to drive judicial reforms to achieve sustainable socio-economic growth and investment.
The Minister noted that the initiative would facilitate rule of law and address challenges militating against the administration of justice in the country.
He explained that the pursuit of justice lies at the heart of Nigerians collective aspirations for a fair and equitable society.
The Attorney General gave the assurance that the federal government would address challenges in the justice system, through strategic policies and other mechanisms that would have direct impact in improving democratic norms, and the rule of law.
The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who declared the conference open, expressed confidence that the initiative would address all pending issues on judicial reforms from a position of knowledge and patriotism.
Governor AbdulRazaq stressed that the reform would also strengthens public confidence in the judicial system.
