The Forum of Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria (FNYLPPN) has applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the successful and credible conduct of the Anambra State governorship election held over the weekend.

In a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Comrade Hon. Eze Onyebuchi Chukwu of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and the Secretary, Comrade Wolimoh Olajide of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), the Forum described the exercise as “nearly perfect,” noting that it represents a significant milestone in Nigeria’s democratic journey.

The group commended INEC for what it called remarkable improvement in logistics, transparency, and real-time result transmission, adding that the timely arrival of election materials across polling units contributed to the success of the process.

“We acknowledge INEC’s achievement in uploading over 90 percent of election results to the IReV portal before 6:30 p.m. This is a laudable feat that should be sustained and replicated in future elections, especially as the nation prepares for the 2027 general elections,” the statement read.

The Forum also praised the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, for demonstrating strong leadership and commitment to credible electoral reforms. It further appreciated President Bola Tinubu for his administration’s consistent support for the independence and capacity of democratic institutions in Nigeria.

On reports of vote buying, the Forum cautioned politicians to embrace discipline, transparency, and integrity in their political activities, warning that “the world is watching Nigeria’s democratic process.”

FNYLPPN commended the people and youths of Anambra State for their peaceful and orderly conduct during the election, stressing that the absence of violence or electoral malpractice was a testament to their political maturity.

“We salute the youths of Anambra for refusing to be used by desperate politicians to disrupt the process. Their conduct demonstrates patriotism and responsibility that should inspire youths nationwide,” the Forum added.

The Forum congratulated the Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, for providing a peaceful environment that enabled credible polls, attributing the success to his administration’s commitment to good governance and security.

“Governor Soludo’s leadership has created a conducive atmosphere for free and fair elections. His popularity and acceptance among the people were clearly reflected in the calm and credible conduct of the exercise,” the statement noted.

FNYLPPN urged citizens in other states to emulate Anambra’s peaceful and transparent electoral model, saying the outcome is a victory for Nigeria’s democracy.

The Forum reaffirmed its readiness to collaborate with INEC and other relevant stakeholders toward the 2027 general elections, pledging to continue promoting youth inclusion, participatory democracy, and credible governance across the country.
