The Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, CP Victor Olaiya has admonished transport unions in the State to uphold peace always, assuring them that Federal Government is actively addressing the current economic situation to improve the lives of all Nigerians.
CP Olaiya made the call when he met with representatives of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria (MOUN), and Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN) at the command headquarters following the strike action by the unions on Thursday in response to the recent hike in price of PMS also know as petrol.
While noting that Kwara State is known for its harmonious and peace-loving nature, the Commissioner of police, also encouraged the transport unions to channel concerns, particularly regarding security, through their chairmen, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and cooperation.
CP Olaiya however assured the transporters that the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, stands in full support of their well-being and is ready to assist them in all matters.
