The Miyetti Allah Fulaku Yeso Yeso Development Association, a Fulani socio-cultural group, has appealed to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, to intervene with the Kwara State Government over the growing security challenges facing its members.

The Association’s Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Ali Jonwuro, who made the call during a press conference in Ilorin, the state capital, expressed deep concern over rising cases of bandit attacks, kidnappings, and cattle rustling.

Alhaji Ali Jonwuro disclosed that in the last three months alone, more than 3,000 cattle were rustled across Edu, Pategi, Irepodun, and Ifelodun Local Government Areas of the state.

He lamented that the persistent insecurity had displaced several Fulani communities and left many families traumatized.

While recalling that Kwara has, for decades, been a model of peaceful coexistence among diverse ethnic groups under the guidance of traditional rulers such as Emirs, Obas, and Baales, Jonwuro warned that the recent surge in insecurity was creating negative stereotypes against law-abiding Fulani residents, leading to stigmatization and marginalization.

Also speaking, the Association’s Director of Media, Sheikh Danfulani Madibbo, urged both federal and state governments to adopt modern security technologies to strengthen the capacity of security agencies in combating banditry, kidnapping, and related crimes.

The group appealed to authorities to act swiftly in restoring peace and rebuilding trust among communities in the affected areas.
