Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has launched the construction of the 15.1-kilometre Ojoku–Ilemona road in Oyun Local Government Area.
Governor AbdulRazaq described the project as part of efforts to open up rural communities for economic growth and improve road connectivity across the state.
Speaking at the event, the Governor said his administration has delivered over 100 kilometres of roads in Kwara South alone, with additional projects spanning about 109 kilometres.

Governor AbdulRazaq also announced that the Federal Government has approved a flyover at Oko Olowo to curb frequent accidents in the busy corridor.
He appealed for federal attention on other critical projects, including the Ilorin–Lokoja dual carriageway, Share–Patigi road, and Moro bridge.
The event coincided with an inspection of the 42.6-kilometre Eiyenkorin–Afon–Ojoku–Offa road by the Governor and Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, alongside officials of the BUA Group contractors handling the project.

Senator Umahi commended the quality of the concrete road, saying it would last between 50 and 100 years, and praised Governor AbdulRazaq’s support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Traditional rulers and community leaders, including the Elerin of Erin-Ile and the Olojoku of Ojoku, commended the Governor for his developmental strides, saying the road will boost commerce and ease movement within the region.
