Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has presided over a high-level security meeting in Ilorin as part of renewed efforts to tackle insecurity in the state.
The closed-door session, held at the Government House, brought together key security chiefs, including the Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi; Special Adviser on Security, Brigadier General Saliu Tunde Bello (rtd.); Senior Special Assistant on Security, Alhaji Aliyu Muyideen; and the Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo.
Also in attendance were General O.S. Kazeem and the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr. Umar Muhammed.
The presence of the top officials underscored the seriousness of the meeting.
The meeting focused on strengthening intelligence gathering, tightening inter-agency collaboration, and deploying more robust strategies to confront emerging security threats.
This is coming in the wake of recent bandit attacks in parts of the state, including Oke-Ode in Ifelodun Local Government Area, which claimed several lives and left residents in fear.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq assured that his administration would continue to work closely with security agencies to protect lives and property, while urging residents to remain calm and vigilant as government intensifies security operations across the state.
