
The newly elected Chairmen and Vice Chairmen for the Sixteen Local Government Areas of Kwara State have been sworn-in.
The Chairmen and the Councillors were elected in the last Saturday council elections held in Kwara State after seven years.

At the swearing in ceremony which took place at the Council Chamber, Kwara State Government House Ilorin, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq charged the Chairmen to work with all and serve the people diligently.
Governor AbdulRazaq advised them to see their election as a call to serve their people.

He also enjoined residents of various local government councils to give maximum support to the new leaders for them to deliver on the mandate given to them.
The Governor congratulated the Council Chairmen and all the One Hundred and Ninety-three (193) Councillors on their victory at the just concluded election.

In a remark, the State APC Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi commended the people of the state for their support and the Governor for his statesmanship and commitment to the public good.
Chairman of Ilorin South Local Government, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, Mr Majeed Bolakale Podo, gave the assurance that they would work hard for the good of the people.
The inauguration was attended by the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu and other principal officers; Chief Judge Ayodele Adebara; Grand Kadi Abdullateef Kamaldeen; Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Mamman Saba Jubril; Chief of Staff, Prince Abdulkadir Mahe, other cabinet members; and APC party elders.
