A non-governmental organisation, the Greater Kwara Foundation, has launched a Renewed Hope Orphanage Tour in Ilorin, as part of activities supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The foundation visited four child-care homes within the Ilorin metropolis, providing humanitarian assistance to vulnerable children.

Speaking at the Olufolake Safe Haven, Dr. Alabi Tajudeen, who represented the foundation, assured beneficiaries of sustained support.

He said the initiative reflects President Tinubu’s concern for the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians, particularly children.

Responding, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Afolashade Oluwakemi, represented by the Director of Women Development, Mrs. Medinat Idris, commended the foundation.

She noted that the outreach aligns with the social welfare agenda of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

Similarly, the Officer in Charge of the Children Reception Centre, Ministry of Social Development, Pipeline Road, Ilorin, Mrs. Jayeola Olawumi, described the intervention as timely, especially in view of increasing welfare demands.

At the City of Refuge, Gaa-Akanbi, the Officer in Charge, Mrs. Precious Ajayi, said the gesture had boosted staff morale and would enhance child-care delivery.

Also speaking at the Takasko Life Care Initiative, Ita-Elepa, Ilorin, a caregiver, Mrs. Mojisola Balogun, said the donations would significantly support the home’s daily needs and called for sustained collaboration between government-aligned groups and social institutions.

Items donated included cash support and food items such as cartons of noodles, bags of rice, semovita and other essential supplies.
